No matter how large or small a company is, it benefits from strong, consistent management. To build a solid management foundation within a business, many CEOs adopt any of the following three popular leadership styles.

1. Authoritarian leadership. Leaders who manage in an authoritarian style effectively disseminate a company’s vision and goals to all employees, so that all workers understand what is expected of them. They develop clear guidelines for the people who work for them and make most decisions independently without the significant input of other company leaders, which can be extremely efficient in fast-paced industries.

2. Transformational leadership. A transformational leader is one who relies heavily on delegation and communication in order to realize company goals. These CEOs improve productivity and efficiency through motivation and inspiration, and are more focused on the long term, big-picture efforts of the company than the everyday details. The details are instead usually handled by the CEO’s management team.

3. Servant leadership. Servant leaders prefer to control things from behind the scenes, focusing on service and hard work, both of which they are committed to performing alongside their employees. CEOs who employ the use of servant leadership often solicit the opinions of their workers when making decisions, and place a high priority on the personal growth and development of employees.
